Wetlands and water quality- by Calista G.

NOVEMBER 6, 2017

Today we went to TNACI and tested their wetlands quality. The wetlands we tested were a specific wetland, reflection pool, a bio-retention pond, and tap water.

We put 10mm into a glass cylinder and then added pH into the cylinder and usually the pH balance would be around 7-7.5. Next,  we tested dissolved oxygen by mixing chemicals into the water to see how much air was in the water and how good the water quality was in the water.

When figuring out if the dissolved oxygen was good or not we mixed many different colored chemicals and also shook the oxygen to see what would happen.
