Sturgeon measurements (prior to release) by Katie M.

Back toward the end of September, the ninth grade river fellows left school during lunch to go to TNACI. At TNACI, we helped measure the soon to be released sturgeon.

Our job was to measure the length and mass of the sturgeon. In order to measure accurately, we had a fellow write down the measurements while two others took them.

In total, we measured seventy of the surgeon. Before our time was up, we calculated the averages of both the length and mass.

The average length was 114.86 mm. The average mass was 6.78g. Being able to help TNACI with this task was such a fun experience.
